Class 421 4-CIG 4-Car EMU

Connex Model and photos by Oliver Abbott

The Class 421 4-CIG was introduced in 1964 for the London-Brighton line to replace ageing pre-war units.

A popular and sucessful design, subsequent batches were built for the South Eastern and South Western divisions and a couple still run today, in a variety of liveries.
